Indian Army inviting applications are from the eligible Indian male candidates for recruitment of Religious Teachers in the Indian Army as Junior Commissioned Officers for RRT 91, 92, 93, 94 & 95 courses. The Religious Teachers preach religious scriptures to troops and to conduct various rituals at the Regimental/Unit religious institutions.
For those who will get this job, duties also include attending funerals, ministering sicks in hospitals, reading prayers with the convalescents, visiting soldiers undergoing sentence, giving special religious instructions to the children and enlisted boys. Besides attending generally to the religious institutions and welfare of the Officers, Soldiers, and their families.

Indian Army Recruitment 2021: Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility: All the Eligibility Criteria will be common for In Service and Direct Entry Candidates.
The Required Educational Qualification: The minimum educational qualification for appointment to this special list of Junior Commissioned Officers (Religious Teacher) will be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. In addition, all the candidate must possess the following special qualification according to the religious denomination of the individual: –
(i) For Pandit and Pandit (Gorkha) for Gorkha Regiment: All the Hindu candidates, with an Acharya in Sanskrit OR Shastri in Sanskrit with 1-year diploma cretificate in ‘Karam Kand’
(ii) For Granthi: Sikh candidates with ‘Gyani’ in Punjabi.
(iii) For the Maulvi and Maulvi (Shia) for Ladakh Scouts vacancies: Only Muslim candidates with Maulvi Alim in Arabic or Adib Alim in Urdu.
(iv) For the Padre vacancy: Any person who has been ordained priesthood by the appropriate ecclesiastical authority and is still on the approved list of the local Bishop
(v) For the Bodh Monk (Mahayana) vacancy: Any person who has been ordained Monk/Buddhist Priest, by the Appropriate Authority. Please note that; The term Appropriate Authority will mean that, Head Priest of the Monastery where the person has been initiated into priesthood. The head priest vacancy, he should be in possession of Geshe (Ph.D.) of Khanpa or Lopon or Rabjam with a proper certificate from the Monastery.
Important Note:- The above mandatory educational qualifications must be acquired by individuals from a recognized university. All the above important eligibility criteria are common for In-service and Direct Entry candidates.
Indian Army Recruitment 2021: Age
Age: The age in respect of Civilian Candidates and In-Service Candidates should not be below 25 years of age and not above 34 years of age on 01 Oct 2021 (i.e. candidates should be born between 01 Oct 1987 and 30 Sep 1996 inclusive of both dates).
